Costa del Sol is one of the most complete scenarios to do outdoor activities in the middel of the Nature spots.
Not only has over 150 kilometers of beaches, but with a very diverse and rich inner paradise that allows visitors to enjoy thousands of routes for hiking or mountain biking, horse and quad riding, canyoning and rivers, kayaking and hundreds of other activities.
Just in the back of Marbella they rise so impressive peaks of Sierra Blanca, most notably La Concha, the most characteristic mountain of our coast.
Sierra Blanca is a mountain range that takes its name from the scarcity of vegetation between their gray rocks.
It is located between the Costa del Sol and the Sierra de las Nieves, between the municipalities of Istan, Ojen, Marbella and Monda.
Pico de la Concha (1215 meters), so called because seen from the west looks like a mollusk, is the second highest, after the peak Lastonar (1,275 m.) Also highlights the Cruz de Juanar (1.178 m).
Among the vegetation we can highlight the chestnuts, cherry trees, ferns, olive groves, small fir reforestation, Aleppo, umbrella and resin pines.
The fauna is represented by golden eagles, Bonelli, toed, hawks, peregrine falcons, vultures, genets, badgers, mountain goats, deer, martens, foxes, wild boars and rabbits.
Among the many routes that exist, we will highlight a few. From the exclusive area of Nagüeles you can go directly to the summit of La Concha by the impressive Arroyo de las Piedras. In less than five kilometers we can enjoy the beautiful views offered by this balcony over the sea, highlighting the Sierra de las Nieves, the coastline, the Rock of Gibraltar and Sierra Bermeja.

If you prefer to walk closer to the coast and not face the tough mountain climbs, Marbella offers the possibility of walking through one of the natural enclaves with more ecological value of the area; Dunas de Artola or Cabopino Dunes, a system of fossil and mobile dunes form a natural enclave on the east coast of Marbella.
The dunes were declared a natural monument by the Government of Andalusia in 2001, covering an area of 192 715 m². They are a small example of what was once this part of the Andalusian Mediterranean coast.
The vegetation is adapted to support the strong sunlight and water scarcity, as well as continued whipping wind. Among the most common species are the Marram or sea thistle, sea daffodils and shrubs like juniper caudate.
The dunes are home to an element of military and defensive architecture of Roman origin, the Thieves Tower, declared of Cultural Interest. Furthermore, in the vicinity are the Port of Cabopino and Cabopino nudist beach.
The route is circular and allow propose within 4 kilometers recognize all the points of interest of the enclave.
